Retail giant Target has promoted Matt Zabel to executive vice president and general counsel.
Zabel previously served as senior vice president of risk and employee and labor relations, guiding Target’s internal Covid-19 task force to bolster planning and response efforts.
In his new role, Zabel will continue reporting to Don Liu, Target’s executive vice president and chief legal and risk officer.
Working for Target since 2010, Zabel also previously led the company’s enterprise risk function, managing teams of “150-plus employees leading enterprise risk management, reputation management, compliance legal and risk services, vendor risk management, food and essentials safety, and quality assurance,” according to his LinkedIn profile.
