JBS, the largest meat processing company in the world, appointed Maurício Bauer as corporate sustainability officer.
Bauer will carry out the company’s sustainability strategy in Brazil in line with JBS’s global targets. He will report to Marcela Rocha, executive officer for corporate affairs.
Previously, Bauer served as the senior director for beef and leather supply chain for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Washington, D.C.
Before the WWF, Bauer worked at the National Wildlife Federation, developing and implementing strategies involving beef protein, leather, palm oil, and soybean. In the private sector, he was also a member of the JBS Australia team and worked for more than 10 years at other companies in the food industry.
