Gurbir Grewal, who recently left the Securities and Exchange Commission after three years as head of its Division of Enforcement, has joined the law firm Milbank as a partner in its New York office.
The law firm announced the move in a press release on Oct. 15.
Grewal will work closely with Milbank partner George Canellos, global head of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration group.
He stepped down as head of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement on Oct. 11.
Grewal had previously served as New Jersey attorney general, a prosecutor for New Jersey’s Bergen County, and a federal criminal prosecutor for both the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey.
