Online retailer Etsy announced the appointment of Colin Stretch as chief legal officer and corporate secretary, effective Feb 14.

Stretch joins Etsy with 25 years of experience, including as former general counsel of Facebook (now Meta) from 2013-19. At Meta, Stretch led the company’s legal and compliance functions and corporate legal affairs.

Since departing Facebook, he spent two years as leader-in-residence at Columbia University Law School and most recently served as of counsel at law firm Latham & Watkins.

Earlier in his career, Stretch clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and U.S. Appeals Court Judge Laurence Silberman. He was also a member of the honors program in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice.
