Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced the appointment of Joshua Eaton as the company’s first deputy general counsel.
Eaton will lead the company’s legal affairs, supporting global compliance, investigations, and law enforcement coordination activities.
Eaton has more than 20 years of legal experience, including 15 years serving the Northern District of California as its deputy U.S. attorney. During his time with the Northern California U.S. Attorney’s Office, he targeted illicit actors who abused blockchain and crypto technology.
Before his time as deputy U.S. attorney, Eaton served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a line prosecutor and senior staff adviser and thereafter an attorney at the Department of Justice.
