The Amherst Group, a real estate investment, development, and operating platform specializing in residential assets, announced that Santander US Capital Markets’ chief risk officer Paul Nicholson has joined the firm as the deputy chief investment officer.

Nicholson first joined Amherst Securities Group in 2004 as co-head of the MBS trading desk and was instrumental in the merger of Amherst Securities Group and Pierpont in 2014.

Prior to Amherst, he worked at Merrill Lynch for over 20 years where he held a variety of senior trading roles.
