Genworth Financial, an insurance holding company, has named Lori Evangel as its new executive vice president and chief risk officer, with immediate effect.

She assumes the role of chief risk officer from Michel Perreault, who will remain with the company as chief risk officer of its U.S. life insurance division.

Evangel comes to Genworth from Aflac, where she served as a managing director and chief risk officer for global investments while developing the investment division risk management function, including new credit and market risk systems and a new enterprise stress testing framework.

Prior to Aflac, Evangel served as senior vice president and enterprise risk officer for MetLife, where she developed and lead the global enterprise risk management unit in partnership with a cross-functional team in more than 50 countries.
