Genworth Financial, an insurance holding company, has named Ray Romano as senior vice president and chief risk officer.

Prior to joining Genworth, Romano was the executive vice president and chief credit officer at Freddie Mac. During his time there, he was responsible for credit management activities including credit policy, customer credit risk management, quality control, credit risk reporting and analytics, credit risk modeling, fraud risk management, counterparty risk, loan loss reserves and loan review.

Previously, Romano has held positions with companies such as Washington Mutual Bank, North American Mortgage, Dime Savings Bank of New York and CITICORP.
