GE Capital, the finance arm of $156 billion General Electric, has hired Ryan Zanin as its new chief risk officer. He succeeds Jim Colica, who is retiring after 27 years with the company.

Zanin joins GE Capital from Wells Fargo & Co., where he most recently served as the company's chief risk officer for corporate credit and risk management in international and capital markets. He also handled risk management at Wachovia, which Wells purchased in late 2008 in the midst of the financial crisis.
