$7 billion clothing and home furnishings retailer Dillard's has named J.C. Watts to its board of directors. Watts replaces James Haslam, who has resigned to focus on other responsibilities.

Watts is a former Oklahoma Congressman, a role he held for eight years, starting in 1994. He also served as chairman of the House Republican Conference and was re-elected to the position two years later.

Currently, Watts serves as chairman of the J.C. Watts Cos., a holding company based in Washington, D.C.
