Law firm Goodwin Procter has appointed Michael Bromwich as partner in its litigation department. He will be a member of the firm's securities litigation and white collar defense group, where he will focus on corporate internal investigations, compliance, monitoring and white-collar criminal defense.

Prior to the BOEMRE, he was a partner and chair of the internal investigations, compliance and monitoring practice group at law firm Fried Frank where he focused on conducting internal investigations for companies, audit committees, special committees, and special litigation committees, and representing both companies and individuals in white-collar criminal investigations.

Previously, he served as inspector general for the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was responsible for conducting independent investigations, audits, inspections, and special reviews of Justice Department personnel and programs. He also served as associate counsel in the Iran-Contra Office of Independent Counsel and as an assistant U.S. attorney in the criminal division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
