International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced that Peter Kreindler, a former executive of Honeywell International, has joined the firm as senior counsel. In this post, Kreindler will focus on strategic litigation management, internal investigations, and corporate crisis management, and will maintain offices in the firm’s New York and Washington, D.C. locations.

Kreindler comes to McDermott Will & Emery from Honeywell International, where he served as senior vice president and general counsel for more than 17 years. In that role, he was responsible for all legal affairs for the company. In addition, the Government Affairs and Health, Safety and Environment functions reported to him.

Prior to Honeywell, Kreindler was a principal and associate general counsel at law firm Coopers & Lybrand, where he handled securities litigation. Before that, he spent 13 years in private practice as a litigator. He began his career with clerkships under Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Irving R. Kaufman. He has also held positions as executive assistant and then counsel to the special prosecutor for the Watergate Special Prosecution Force, where he briefed and argued the Watergate break-in appeal.
