Ford Motor Co., has elected former Bank of America CFO and Vice Chairman, James Hance, as a member of its board of directors. He also will serve on the audit, finance, and the governance committees.

Hance retired from Bank of America in 2005 after 18 years with the company. He also serves a senior adviser to the Carlyle Group and is Sprint Nextel’s non-executive chairman.

His appointment expands Ford’s board to 14 directors.
