At the historic 'Directors' Panel' during this week's Securities Enforcement Forum 2013, five current or former SEC Directors of Enforcement convened for a fascinating discussion about current SEC enforcement issues and developments over the past four decades. The Directors' Panel consisted of:

Andrew Ceresney, the current Co-Director of the SEC's Enforcement Division;

Robert Khuzami, SEC Enforcement Director from 2009-2013, now a partner with Kirkland & Ellis;

Linda Chatman Thomsen, SEC Enforcement Director from 2005-2009, now a partner with Davis Polk;

Bill McLucas, SEC Enforcement Director from 1989-1997, now a partner with WilmerHale; and

Hon. Stanley Sporkin, SEC Enforcement Director from 1974-1981, now the leader of BP's Ombudsman Program.

Brad Bondi, a partner at Cadwalader who previously served as Counsel to two SEC commissioners, moderated the panel. Bondi said that, to his knowledge, it was the first time so many former directors were assembled on one panel. The fact that the current Enforcement director was also a panel member made the panel even more historic, he said.

"Hearing four decades of accumulated knowledge across five directors was amazing," Bondi said. "It was an honor and a pleasure moderating such a historic panel, composed of the current director of Enforcement and four former directors. Each of the former directors served the agency through challenging times and made lasting contributions to the Enforcement program."
