FirstEnergy has promoted Jon Taylor to vice president, controller and chief accounting officer, effective May 1.  He will succeed Harvey Wagner, who is retiring.

In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for the accounting, tax and financial reporting activities of FirstEnergy and its subsidiaries. He will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer James Pearson.

Taylor joined FirstEnergy in 2009 as manager of financial reporting and technical accounting. He was promoted to assistant controller of FirstEnergy Utilities in 2010 and to assistant controller for FirstEnergy Solutions and FirstEnergy Generation in 2012. He was named to his current position of vice president and assistant controller in 2012.  Prior to joining the company, Taylor worked at PwC for 13 years.
