First Banks, with assets of $6.92 billion and 149 branch banking operations in California, Florida, Illinois and Missouri, announced the election of two new members to its board of directors. John Poelker and Guy Rounsaville.

With over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry as both an executive and a consultant, Poelker currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of State Bank and Trust Company in Atlanta. In addition, he operates The Poelker Consultancy, a corporation he established in 2005, that provides a wide range of financial and management advisory services to the banking industry. In addition, Poelker has held senior-level roles at many other companies throughout his career, including Old National Bancorp; American General Finance; Fleet Finance; BankAmerica Corporation; and Citizens & Southern Corporation.

Rounsaville presently serves as the director of diversity at the law firm of Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis. Previous experience includes serving as the general counsel and corporate secretary for Wells Fargo; general counsel at Visa International; and general counsel and corporate secretary of LaSalle Bank Corporation.
