The Federal Communications Commission has named David Gossett as Acting Deputy General Counsel for Litigation.

He will have day-to-day responsibility for directing the FCC's advocacy in the nation's courts.

Gossett joins the FCC from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where he was Assistant General Counsel for Litigation. Prior to that, he was a partner at law firm Mayer Brown, and was a visiting professor at the Riga, Latvia Graduate School of Law in the fall semesters of 1999 and 2000.

He served as an Honors Program attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Frauds Group, and clerked for the Honorable Diane Wood of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
