Farmers Capital Bank Corporation, a bank holding company, has announced changes to its board of directors.

Appointed chairman of the board is Terry Bennett. He assumes this position from Frank Sower, who is retiring after 14 years in the position.

Bennett currently serves as an attorney in private practice. Since 1993, he has served as a director of First Citizens bank, a subsidiary of the company, including serving as its chairman since 2010.

Appointed to the role of vice chairman is Barry Banker, who has served as a director since 1996. He currently serves as manager of Stewart Home School, a boarding school for special needs individuals.

Other new appointments to the board include:

Fred Parker, currently president and chief executive officer at Kentucky River Coal Company; 

David Phelps, currently president and CEO of CreoSalus, a peptide science company; and 

Charles Sutterlin, currently managing principal and general counsel of PRG Investments.
