Endurance Specialty Holdings, a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, has appointed Nicholas Campbell as chief risk officer and executive vice president. In his new role, Campbell will be responsible for Endurance's company-wide enterprise risk management activities.

Campbell joined the company's worldwide reinsurance operation in November 2009 as senior vice president and head of specialty treaty reinsurance, where he was responsible for leading Endurance's workers' compensation catastrophe, clash, political risk and aviation treaty reinsurance product lines. Previously, Campbell served as chief risk officer and chief actuary for RCS Limited, a participant in the structured credit, finance and insurance collateral markets.

He also held several actuarial and consulting positions, including vice president and actuary with Centre Solutions and senior vice president and chief actuary with ACE Capital. He began his career at Towers Perrin in the United Kingdom.
