$13 billion Eaton Corp. has hired Thomas Moran as senior vice president and secretary. He assumes the roles from Earl Franklin, who retired on Sept. 30 after almost 36 years with the diversified industrial manufacturer company.

In his new role, Moran will oversee Eaton’s governance initiatives and will manage the corporate and securities function of the law department, along with the office of the secretary.

Moran joins Eaton after 19 years of service with The Dow Chemical Company. Most recently, he was senior managing counsel and assistant corporate secretary, a role he had held since 2002.

In other news, Eaton has named Lynn Rogozinski to the new role of director of compliance, reporting to Deborah Severs, vice president of global ethics and compliance. Rogozinski will be based at Eaton’s World Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rogozinski joined Eaton in 2000 and most recently served as senior attorney in the law department.
