Duke Energy has named Swati Daji, formerly vice president of deal structuring and contract management for the company’s Franchised Electric and Gas business segment, as chief risk officer. She assumes the role from Senior Vice President and Treasurer Stephen De May.

Daji will be responsible for corporate risk management, with particular focus on the company’s market and credit risks. In addition, she will manage the company’s insurance programs.

The company also announced that De May, in addition to his current responsibilities, will be placed in charge of overseeing investor relations. Currently, he is responsible for all of Duke Energy’s financing and capital markets activities, liability management, liquidity and cash management, and managing Duke Energy’s relationships with the major credit rating agencies. His new responsibilities will align financing and debt within the company’s investor relations function. Combining these organizations will allow for a strong alignment to the debt and equity financial communities.

De May and Daji will report to Lynn Good, group executive and chief financial officer.
