DreamWorks Animation has announced the departure of its general counsel, Katherine Kendrick. She will be leaving the company when her contract expires at the end of the year in order to devote more time to her ongoing work with a number of philanthropic organizations.

Kendrick currently serves on a number of non-profit boards, including the United States Olympic Foundation, Waterkeeper’s Alliance, and LA’s BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow). She also serves on numerous advisory boards, including the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, Kids Play International, and Columbia University School of Law’s Kernochan Center for Law, Media, and the Arts.

Prior to joining DreamWorks as general counsel, Kendrick was vice president of European legal affairs for The Walt Disney Company, based in Paris, France. Before moving to Paris, Kendrick served as a director of legal affairs for The Walt Disney Studios, having segued to Disney from the law firm of Latham & Watkins.
