Delta Airlines has appointed Robert Rivkin as senior vice president and deputy general counsel, international and regulatory affairs.

Prior to joining Delta, Rivkin served as general counsel at the U.S. Department of Transportation. In this position, he served as chief legal officer and counsel to Secretary Ray LaHood.

Prior to joining the Department of Transportation, Rivkin served as vice president and deputy general counsel at risk management and brokerage firm Aon Corporation, where he established the legal functions in Canada and Latin America.

Previously, Rivkin served as general counsel of the Chicago Transit Authority from 2001 to 2004. He also served as partner at law firm Schiff Hardin, served as director of programs and policy for the City of Chicago's law department, and prosecuted federal criminal cases as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
