$61.1 billion computer maker Dell announced that Sallie Krawcheck has resigned from its board of directors, effectively immediately. Krawcheck was also chairman of the leadership development and compensation committee, and a member of the finance and governance and nominating committees.

Krawcheck resigned in order to dedicate more time to her role as president of global wealth and investment management at Bank of America, a position she has held since August, Dell said in a regulatory filing.

Adobe Systems Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen has been appointed to Dell's board, and his service will be subject to a renomination vote at the company's annual shareholder meeting in July.
