$87.4 billion pharmacy chain giant CVS Caremark has appointed Laird Daniels as controller and chief accounting officer, effective Jan. 1, 2010.

With nearly two decades of financial management experience, Daniels joined CVS Caremark in 1997, most recently serving as vice president of finance and retail controller for the company.

Daniels will be replacing David Denton, who was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer. Denton will succeed David Rickard who announced in February of this year his intention to retire as CFO.
