Lynn Neils, former prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Offices for the Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey, has joined the law firm of Covington & Burling as a partner in the firm's white-collar litigation group.

Prior to joining Covington & Burling, Neils most recently practiced as a white-collar partner at law firm Mayer Brown. Earlier in her career, she served as senior counsel at Johnson & Johnson, where she was responsible for handling criminal and internal investigations and advising on compliance and regulatory matters.

For more than 11 years, Neils served as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Offices for the Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. In these capacities, she investigated and prosecuted all manner of criminal cases, including health care fraud, financial institution fraud, insurance fraud, tax fraud, securities fraud, money laundering and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Her leadership positions during her tenure included chief of the major crimes unit and coordinator of the criminal health fraud unit.
