$3.6 billion Corn Products International has elected Wayne Hewett as a member of its board of directors effective Sept. 14.

Hewett is President and CEO of Tokyo, Japan-based Arysta LifeScience Corporation, the world's largest privately held crop protection and life science company, which provides crop protection and life science products in more than 125 countries. Hewett joined Arysta LifeScience Corporation in 2009 as chief operating officer.

Previously, he spent more than 20 years with various international divisions of General Electric Company, including roles as president, GE Plastics Pacific; vice president of GE Supply Chain and Operations; and president and CEO of GE Advanced Materials. He also served as a member of GE's corporate executive council.
