Comcast recently promoted a series of senior-level officers and announced the hiring of a new chief transaction compliance officer and senior deputy general counsel.
Assuming the role of chief transaction compliance officer and senior deputy general counsel is Julie Laine. In this capacity, Laine is responsible for ensuring Comcast’s compliance with governmental and third-party conditions and commitments arising from the Comcast NBCUniversal joint venture transaction; for coordinating NBCUniversal’s compliance; and for overseeing any additional regulatory conditions arising from the pending transactions with Time Warner Cable and Charter. She reports to Lynn Charytan, senior vice president of legal regulatory affairs and senior deputy general counsel at Comcast.
Laine joins Comcast after spending 13 years at Time Warner Cable, most recently as group vice president and chief counsel, regulatory. Prior to that, she was associate general counsel at Net2Phone, and attorney advisor in the policy division of the Federal Communication Commission's Common Carrier Bureau.
New Promotions
In other news, Comcast promoted David Don, previously executive director of regulatory and public affairs for Comcast, to vice president of regulatory policy. Additionally, Jordan Goldstein, previously executive director of regulatory affairs, has been promoted to vice president of regulatory affairs.
In these roles, Don will continue to develop and implement the company’s broadband and wireless strategies before the FCC and other federal agencies, while Goldstein will continue to be responsible for Comcast’s advocacy before federal agencies, including the FCC. Both report to Kathy Zachem, senior vice president of regulatory and state legislative affairs at Comcast.
Comcast also promoted Rudy Brioché, previously executive director of external affairs and public policy counsel for Comcast, to vice president of global public policy and policy counsel. In this role, he will continue to focus on the development of the company’s public policy positions and legislative analysis. He reports to Rebecca Arbogast, senior vice president of global public policy.
Lindsey Dickinson and Sam Lancaster, both previously executive directors of federal government affairs, have both been promoted to vice president of legislative affairs, responsible for federal legislative advocacy on behalf of the company. They will report to Melissa Maxfield, senior vice president of federal government affairs.
