Autonomy Corporation, global provider in infrastructure software for the enterprise, announced the release of its iManage Digital Safe.

The solution enables law firms to archive and retrieve matter content—such as documents, e-mail, audio, and images—in Autonomy's Digital Safe, the world's largest cloud-based data archive at over 10 petabytes. As a result, firms can dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of maintaining a large IT infrastructure to store and manage massively growing volumes of data.

The iManage Digital Safe solution leverages the company's unique strengths in private cloud computing, legal information management, and eDiscovery. The iManage Digital Safe is a massively scalable, cloud-based, and on-premise archive service that enables customers to outsource the storage and management of their e-mail messages, client- and matter-related documents, instant messages, and unified communications content to a trusted, proven third-party.

Digital Safe is powered by Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer, which ingests, de-duplicates, and indexes documents and e-mails. Digital Safe can automatically archive content from e-mail and WorkSite servers based on predefined business rules. This enables users to easily and transparently retrieve archived data and prepares the data for potential future legal holds or preservation.
