Chrysler Group, which emerged from bankruptcy June 10 by selling most of its assets to a company led by Italy's Fiat Spa, has appointed six new members to its board of directors.

The new members of the board include: James Blanchard, former governor of Michigan; Douglas Steenland, former chief executive of Northwest Airlines; Ronald Thompson, chairman of the board of trustees for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association; George Gosbee, chairman and president of Tristone Capital; Scott Stuart, a founding partner of Sageview Capital; and Stephen Wolf, chairman of R.R. Donnelley & Sons.

Previously named to Chrysler's board were Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and Alfredo Altavilla of Fiat Powertrain Technologies. In addition, C. Robert Kidder was named acting chairman on May 20.

The appointees from Fiat were Marchionne, Altavilla, and Wolf. The U.S. appointees were Kidder, Steenland, Thompson, and Stuart, while Canada’s appointee was Gosbee, and the United Auto Workers union’s health care trust fund appointee was Blanchard.
