The international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke announced that veteran corporate governance attorney Heidi Lawson has joined the firm as a partner. Although resident in London, she will spend significant time in New York to serve and continue building her sizable U.S. client base.

Most recently, she was international counsel with Debevoise & Plimpton in London. Lawson's practice includes advising clients on corporate governance and risk management. She frequently guides international clients in establishing and following best practices for risk governance across jurisdictions and advises companies and directors on risk committee functions. Additionally, she counsels public and private organizations on liability, indemnification and insurance issues relating to officers and boards of directors.

A frequent lecturer and author on management liability and insurance topics, Lawson has 23 years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry, including a six-month secondment to the Financial Services Authority in London. She has worked for 14 years as a lawyer advising boards and companies on risk issues and previously spent nine years on the business side in claims and underwriting.
