Brad Berry, formerly deputy general counsel of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, has joined the international law firm of Baker Botts as a partner. He will based in the firm's Washington office.

Berry joins Baker Botts as the CFTC is rolling out its extensive rulemaking required by the Dodd-Frank Act. Berry was in charge of appellate litigation at the CFTC and supervised all appeals stemming from the agency's rulemaking and enforcement proceedings. He will help companies navigate compliance with the new requirements and respond to the increasing investigation and enforcement activities of the agency.

Prior to joining the CFTC, Berry was a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. He was also previously a partner at Miller, Cassidy, Larroca & Lewin, which merged with Baker Botts in 2001.
