Staples President and CEO Ronald Sargent was recently announced as Mattel's newest director, increasing board membership to 12. Sargent joined Staples in 1989 as a regional vice president of operations, and was promoted several times before being named president and CEO in February, 2002. He previously held numerous positions at grocery chain Kroger. A director at Aramark and Yankee Candle, he joins a Mattel board that includes

Williams-Sonoma SVP and General Counsel Ronald Loeb, former Clorox CEO G. Craig Sullivan, and retired Cardinal Health CIO Kathy Brittain White.
