Bank of America has named Lauren Mogensen as corporate secretary. She replaces Alice Herald, who retired as a deputy general counsel after 32 years of service, Bloomberg news has reported.

Mogensen joined FleetBoston Financial in 2001 as managing director of mergers and acquisitions. FleetBoston was then acquired by Bank of America in 2004. Mogensen has been deputy general counsel since October 2009, following a 10-month stint as chief risk and compliance officer for global wealth and investment management, which includes the Merrill Lynch brokerage unit.

The change, which occurred in August but wasn’t publicly announced until this week, is not related to the departure of Gregory Baer, another deputy general counsel who left Bank of America this week to join JPMorgan Chase & Co., bank spokesman Lawrence Grayson told Bloomberg.
