Bank of America Corp, has named Edward O’Keefe general counsel with immediate effect. He has been interim general counsel since January.

O’Keefe succeeds Brian Moynihan, who will become head of consumer banking at BoA. Moynihan is currently head of global corporate and investment banking and global wealth management,

O’Keefe has previously held several roles at BoA, including deputy general counsel and head of litigation, global compliance, and operational risk executive; senior-privacy executive; and deputy general counsel for staff support. He joined the company in 2004 from Deutsche Bank AG, where he was responsible for the global staff-support legal functions outside Germany.
