Autodesk, a 3D design, engineering and entertainment software company, has elected Stacy Smith to the Autodesk board of directors. His term on the board begins immediately.

Smith joins the board as a replacement for Sean Maloney, who recently resigned from the board to assume the role of chairman of Intel China. Smith, who has been with Intel for 23 years, serves as chief financial officer and senior vice president.

In addition to Autodesk, Smith also is a board member for Gevo, a developer of bio-based alternatives to petroleum products using a combination of synthetic biology and chemistry.
