Software company Autodesk has appointed Tom Georgens to its board of directors, effective as of March 21.

Georgens has served as chief executive officer and president of data storage company NetApp since August 2009, and has served as a board member since March 2008. He served in other capacities at NetApp as well, including executive vice president and general manager of enterprise storage systems, executive vice president of product operations and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining NetApp, Georgens worked at LSI Corporation, a software and semiconductors company, and its subsidiaries in various capacities, including CEO of Engenio and executive vice president of LSI Logic. Previously, he spent 11 years at software company EMC in a variety of engineering and marketing roles.
