AT&T announced that Chief Financial Officer Rick Lindner will retire effective June 1. He will be replaced by AT&T Controller John Stephens.

Lindner has served as CFO for the company since 2004. He previously was CFO for Cingular Wireless, the joint wireless venture between SBC and BellSouth.

A 19-year veteran of the company, Stephens has served since 2001 as controller for AT&T, where his responsibilities have included financial reporting and operations, business planning and accounting policy. Previously he served as vice president of taxes, where he oversaw all corporate tax matters for the company.
