Ascena Retail Group has hired Ernest LaPorte as chief accounting officer. In this capacity, he will oversee Ascena’s accounting, financial reporting and accounting shared service functions.

For the last seven years, LaPorte held the position of controller at Saks. Prior to Saks, LaPorte gained experience at the Movado Group as vice president of finance and principal accounting officer and Barnes & Noble, where he spent six years in finance. LaPorte has also held various accounting and finance leadership positions at General Electric.
