AK Steel, based in Westchester, Ohio, has named Richard Williams as the company's new controller and chief accounting officer. He assumes the roles from Roger Newport, who has been promoted to vice president of business planning and development.

The company also approved the promotion of several members of its executive management team, along with some additional management changes:

David Horn, promoted to executive vice president from senior vice president, in addition to his current roles as general counsel and secretary.

John Kaloski, promoted to executive vice president and operating officer from senior vice president of operations.

Albert Ferrara, promoted to senior vice president of finance from vice president of finance, in addition to his current role as CFO.

In addition to Newport's new role, the company announced two other new vice president positions and appointments. Keith Howell will be vice president of carbon steel operations, and Kirk Reich will serve as vice president of specialty steel operations.
