The Association of Corporate Counsel announced that its long-time general counsel, Susan Hackett, who has been with ACC for 22 years, will be leaving on June 30 to start her own consulting practice.

The consultancy, Legal Executive Leadership, will be based in Washington, D.C., and will be opening July 1.

Hackett departure comes on the same day as the retirement of ACC president, Frederick Krebs, who has served in that role for 20 years. Hackett had been a candidate for the president and CEO position, which ultimately went to Veta Richardson, executive director of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.
