Pennsylvania-based confectioner Hershey Foods announced last week that John Stachowiak had been promoted to the position of vice president internal audit. Previously, he was Hershey's director of internal audit. As part of the change, Stachowiak will be responsible for assessing financial, operational and IT control risks throughout the organization, as well as ensuring compliance with SOX 404. In May of last year, Hershey reorganized its entire finance department, and Stachowiak's boss changed from the corporate controller to CFO and SVP Frank Cerminara. In his new position, Stachowiak will report directly to the audit committee.
