Treasure Data prioritizes EU compliance for global enterprise clients

GRC Announcements | May 10, 2017

Treasure Data, a cloud platform provider, has expanded its security compliance program to meet the European Unions Privacy Shield framework, allowing clients to securely use customer data internationally to improve and pivot processes and programs.

As Compliance Week previously reported, the European Commission in July 2016 adopted a final version of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield—the long-awaited transatlantic data transfer framework, establishing stringent new data privacy compliance obligations on U.S. companies seeking to transfer personal data from Europe into the United States.

By complying with the Privacy Shield, Treasure Data allows clients to manage and analyze customer data across the Atlantic, key for global companies to develop business intelligence, modify marketing programs, and more.

Treasure Data continues to stay ahead of security compliance for cloud data management. The company recently received an ISO 27001 certification (international standards focusing on information security management) and has implemented the ISO 31000 framework for the Risk Management Program, ensuring that Treasure Data is moving beyond just meeting industry standards needed for today’s global companies working with customer data.

As more enterprises adopt multiple cloud-based services to manage their global data and customer base, there is increasing need from the world’s largest vendors for the data management flexibility and cloud security compliance that Treasure Data offers.

“As more Europe-based enterprises adopt cloud infrastructures, they are quickly realizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to best serve their data needs, while also minding the strict security data regulations that each country enforces,” says Kip James, Treasure Data’s chief information security officer. “At Treasure Data, we want our clients to stay ahead of ever-changing security requirements, like EU’s Privacy Shield, so they can continue to conduct business as usual without any setbacks.”
